Tussell’s latest research, mined from its database of government contracts dating back to 2012, reveals increasing activity in UK public procurement. Last month £43 billion of new tender opportunities were published by public sector buyers, including Central and Local Government (Local Councils, Local Authorities etc) - close to the all-time high reached in July.
Opportunities continue to grow
2,048 tenders were published in September - up 16% on the same time last year. Thanks to this, Q3 2018 saw the highest value of quarterly public tenders opportunities since 2015.
Despite wider economic uncertainty, the number of opportunities to win government contracts is growing.
Construction the top sector for new opportunities
Over £13 billion in Construction tenders were posted in September - it has been the biggest sector for public tenders year to date - however, even sectors with just 3% share still account for over £1.3 billion. Are you winning your share of it?
Local Govt tenders rise 26%
Opportunities from Local Government have steadily risen and now account for over 60% of tender volume. In addition, 36% of all tenders are suitable for SME's.
If you’re looking for a high volume of new bidding opportunities, this is where the action is.
